how much lift can the stock valve spings handle

 

The stock springs are just good enough for the stock cam. If you change cam specs you need new springs to go with it. Ask the people selling the cam as to what springs you should use. It is not only the lift you need to worry about, but also the cam profile and the RPM that the cam is capable of.
