RE: transmission problems
Let me tell you something about re-building trans.... now... this has happened to me more than once. I re- built my trans and about a year later it went out again. When I went to the trans shop they told me that most of the trans that get re-built break down simply because it's more like a temp fix. I dont know how much of that is true, but I advise you to take it to a place where there is life time warr on the parts. I found a place down here where I live. Go to a shop that is known. Sorry to read about your loss.

RE: transmission problems
well, i dont agree with with that at all. i build transmissions everyday and the whole purpose to rebuilding them is to find the reason for it to fail in the first place and fix it. i mean anyone can just throw some clutches and seal in one, but if you don't find the primary failed part its going to happen again. sounds to me like you talked to a unexperienced transmission tech, or the service manager which in most cases is even worse most of them havent even been into a transmission and dont know what the h*ll they are talking about. i hope you you dont take that the wrong way i wasnt trying to pick your statement apart just to inform you that it wasnt so.

RE: transmission problems
forget the auto find a good t56 six speed and a good metalic clutch(no more slip) and forget about the auto they do break after a rebuild if you just have one put back stock. A good valve body and performance torq converter helps.
