does anyone have any idea what would make my tranny do this?
if i shift through the gears manually it runs great, however when i put it int drive or overdrive sometimes it stops at 30mph and refuses to shift out of first, then if i come to a complete stop it runs great. also sometimes it stops right before it shifts out of second and rev's really high, then if i let off the gas and hit the gas again it shifts out of second, also i've noticed it doesn't have the pick up it used to. does anyone hve any clue what this is or is it just a bad tranny?

make sure your tranny fluid level is up. im thinking its not a major fix but still could turn into that if its not delt with. whens the last time the trany has been serviced? fluid and filter change? on the 4l60 the tv cable would be what i would look at with your problem but you have a 4l60e and its electronic so there is a solonoid that does the same thing. that is most likely what is not working. check the wires to the trany and the plugs too. could be damaged.

 

i reset the computer and now the tranny shifts great but the car doesn't have the pick up it had before this issue, i'm going to give it a full tune p, oil, plugs, wires, tranny fluid filter, any other ideas of why it doesnot have the pick up?

 

check the fuel pressure and have it scanned for trouble codes.

 

ok im haveing the same shift out of 2nd problem in my 99 z28 auto..... if you have figured out wat to do let me know! when i went to aamco they said it needs a complete rebuild but i cant believe it and people have said aamco is a ripoff

 

Might want to check your shifter linkage -- I had a problem with my late '95 3.4L...
