havin some problems... shifts too hard when not accelerating, slips, and bounces off rev between gears when wide open.. what does this sound like? would a 4L60E overhaul kit from Jegs fix this? i dont want to buy another tranny, but i need to take care of this.. thanks

 

My tranny does the same thing for the most part. It'll just get worse until it eventually won't switch gears as your going down the road when it is supposed to during regular driving. I ended up limping mine home with it stuck in 1st and occasionally switching to second just long enough to tease you into going faster and then downshifting agian...... Long story short you'll have to get the tranny rebuilt. I was quoted $1500 to rebuild and supe up my tranny. That sounds like what you've been faced with to me.

 

ok thanks.. but could i just go the cheap way and buy a rebuild kit from Jegs? they run about $230 with a shift kit.. my mechanic quoted me $300 to do it.. would this help at all?
