Anyone ever hear of oil leaking where the water pump and opti mount on the LT-1 engine?

Chances are the shaft seals on the front cover went bad. There is also a possibility, if the water pump was taken out, that the wrong end of the water pump shaft was put into the front cover causing it to sling oil out instead of in.

 

Thanks Pete! Got the front and rear seals done, now two left to go!

The guy i bought the car from let it sit for a few years, guess that's not good for seals.
