Oil also flows through the throttle body in the front, but if it is in the back it may be valve cover gasket, but i have seen the stock gaskets reused over and over again.

 

ok guys today i just saw that it there seems to be a large oil leak threw the oil filler cap. not that cap itself its the tube that is on the valve cover. is that tube glue to the valve cover?? cuz i clean the cover like about three weeks ago because it was full of oil and i today i saw that there was some oil that was still wet. I took the tube off and i just put the cop directly to the valve cover is this good or what should i do?? Do i buy a new tube ?

 

I think there is a seal there. I think it's for the pc valve. If it is good all you need is the rubber seal.

 

are u talking about the pcv valve? i'm not, the tube were u pore the oil threw were the tube and the valve cover connect. I took of the tube and just put the cap directly to the valve cover hole I hope that stops the leaking but i still want to put the tube back on, any idea what to use or should i buy the tube itself new??

 

If it doesn't leak I don't know of any reason you should. I realy don't know the purpose of the tube ecept for trying to make it easier to pour oil in.

 

If the PCV valve is not working properly, a lot of pressure develops inside the engine and it forces oil in places where it should not go. The oil tube serves two purposes, one to help putting the oil in, and the other to prevent the oil spray under the valve covers to hit the filler cap and leak out. You can get a new one from the dealer for a few bux.

 

i know i'm bringing back this theath but sorry. I have still not find the problem to the oil leaks but now i have another one, z28 pet u said if the pcv valve is not working good then it could cause oil to go to different places. well my valve cover from passanger side keeps getting get with oil, i clean it about 2000 miles ago and its get of oil again, should i replace my valve cover gasket and pcv valve?

 

The PCV valve is no biggy & hould be replaced on a regular basis. The valave cover getting oily could be due to poor sealing where the retaining bolts go through the cover, or from the oil filler pipe & cover. Also possible that the valve cover is cracked, especially since they are made of plastic.

 

i'm going to change the pcv valve, and gasket to valve cover i already order them. I'll check the valve cover for cracks could i pore water to the valve cover onces i taken it off, and see if there is any crakes on the cover then i could clean all the water out.

 

Ok today i check the pcv valve and is it right for the pcv valve to be cover with oil??? I dont know thats why i ask. also it the car has a "pcv" that does not look like any other "nomal pcv valve" i'm going to post a picture of the "pvc valve that is in the car right now. So is this normal that the pcv valve be cover with oil??
