Default ls1 swap

i was interested in doing an ls1 swap into a lt1 camaro, my question is how hard would it be to get this done, and if it isnt extremely hard can i swap an ls1 or higher that is 6.0 L

You're going to have a grip of work ahead of you...The LS1 doesn't have the same mounting locations as the LT1 because the LT1 is the origional Chevy small block, but the LS blocks are a completely redesigned block, so you'd have to modify your frame and such. Not worth the effort if you ask me.

something that i was thinking on doing. I was thinking on getting a salve ss and droping the motor with tranny on my lt1

what other chevy small blocks would be easy to just drop in other than the LT1, otherwise im just going to have to rebuild my current LT1

The Lt1 is the only one that fits without surgery.

ok thanks pete for the info , now i have another question or actually maybe just need a little advise, my LT1 runs well but it is just under the 150k mark, should i get the engine and trans rebuilt or should i buy a new one ?

Pete, shouldn't an LT4 fit in also?(good luck finding one, but it should fit)...I would say get it rebuilt. If you buy a new one you'll have the same thing you have now, so why not invest in some upgrades while the motor is appart? Put a more aggressive cam in, get the heads and intake worked over so they flow better...might as well save the money on buying a whole new block and put it into some performance.
