Default LT1 to LT4 swap

My car has the stock LT1 engine. I was offered a completely rebuilt LT4 with no miles on it. The guy is selling it for $1500. Should I buy that or mod my LT!?

1500 bucks is a good price for a rebuilt lt1 or lt4. if its actually rebuilt and done right. thats one issue, is it done right?

fairly good deal but 1500 to a stock lt1 is a pretty sick lt1, for 1500 you can replace seals, cam upgrade, port polish intake, 58mm tb, you can get lt4 heads for about 400 or stoke out ur engine to 383

not really...if you can get all the components for a cam swap, buy a 58mm tb, port your intake, get the LT4 heads AND go 383 for 1500 bucks, then you're stealing them from someone.

hell, assuming you have all the proper supporting mods for a cam swap, you'd be lucky to get the actual components that go into a cam swap AND a 58mm tb for 1500 bucks. its more expensive than people think it is

pssstttt

if the engine is an LT4 (4 bolt main) and is completely rebuilt, and is $1500, that is a damn steal.

Stop for a moment before you start listing your seals and cam etc. We are talking a rebuild, not a top end only and it has 4 bolt mains. All the machine work is done etc etc

it's a complete engine!!!!

$1500, dagnabbit, buy it yesterday
