Default noise in steering

My 96 Z has a creek or rubbing noise when turning hard left and right while rolling. Does it just need grease or is it a sign of bigger problems?

Thanks

I've had the car a few months. I would imagine they need to be greased. What other issues would you look for with rack/pinion steering?

The rack and pinion, outside of breaking or leaking fluid is not known for makin noises. You should look at the rest of the front suspension, such as tie rod ends, ball joints, bad wheel bearings, they complain going around corners, suspension and sway bar bushings dry out and make noise. But, a lot of people don't realize that the Camaro ball joints need to be lubed at every oil change and let them go to hell.
