ok Im looking for the huge plastic piece that lies in back of the dashboard toward the windshield,this is where the defroster is located and the light for the alarm.Ive been looking everywhere for this part but cant seem to find it.If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated.

Yellojacket, I think you're talking about the dashboard top plate cover. It kinda looks like a big stingray. Mine got brittle from the sun and cracked into about 10 pieces. If this is the part then it might be a dealer item or you can check ebay but be careful in buying used because it too may be brittle.
