PLEEEAAASSSSEEEEE! TELL ME ONE OF YOU KNO HOW TO GET AROUND THE CHIP IN THE KEY?????................ I GOT THE CAR WITHOUT THE TITLE AND WITHOUT KEYS.... AND WHAT I AM GOIN TO DO IS MAKE A RACE CAR OUT OF IT...... AND BEFORE I TAKE THE CAR APART I WANT TO JUST SEE IF THE CAR WILL RUN!........

You are going to have a tough time bypassing the vats system, without knowing the value of the resistor in the key that came with the car. If you can find that out you can then permanently wire the vats input to make it think it has the proper key.

I did not have the same problem, but I did have to replace my keys because the chip went bad on mine. I went to the Chevy dealership and they replaced everything. I paid close to $400. I advise you to do that; it would save you a lot of trouble.

 

The other thing you can do is to have the PCM reprogrammed to ignore VATS.
