Whats 1k? The problem is my brother is lazy and not in a hurry to do anything. This car is on his back list of projects. I hate to see a nice car go to waste. So thats why I wanna get it off him. Once I have the car I can more diagnose the problem. Im a commercial electrician but the camaro electronics system( especially ignition) is very complex in my opinion. . I talked to him today he said the previous owner tryed to install a cobra alarm in it but didnt complete.the car ran fine after the attempted install, but there are wire splices. The fact that the gauges go all the way up when the key is turned to ON make me think there is a wire that has bumped another wire somewhere.... Since mechanic was able to get spark by bypassing whatever he bypassed opti is good I guess. Thanks for the help again. Now I just need to rip this car from my bro's grip

 

1k = one thousand im sure u can figure it out. a grounded wire on the sensor will make a gage go to max so maybe u are on the right track.
