Just lookin for some experienced nos users to tell me what hp jets i can use safely on a almost stock motor running premo. fuel and colder plugs. any advice would help thanks guys.

 

If you inhale nitorogen oxyde in moderation it will make you silly and laugh a lot, but if you take in too much it will damage your lungs, the same thing happens to your engine.

 

75 shot of nos will be safe for your car with premium fuel. I wouldn't go with colder plugs because when you're not using NOS it'll screw with the efficiecny of the combustion. The timing will be retarted by the computer because it's still within the built in tolerances. It'll be retarted only 1 degree with every 50 hp.

 

ok so what should I do to my motor to allow it to handle a 150 shot?

 

For that little shot of nos, it'll have to be a wet shot pretty much. I'd go with synthetic oil because that will cause more blow by due to higher pressure in the cylinder that results in diluting the oil. With a 150 shot you really get some where around the 70 hp mark to the rear wheels. At that point, your ring gap on your pistons should be shaved down a little bit more to allow for extra expansion with the extra heat burning fuel and N2O produces.

 

If your looking for street performance NOS is not a good idea. If the cops check your car and find it ready to use it is illegal.

 

Ah the cops. It really has to be a purpose built car to have nitrous. That or drive around with the tank closed and the lines disconnected. But he did bring up a very very very valid point.
