here would be a good advice for your problem but... we can't be there looking at it... find your self a place that specializes in Transissions... sounds like the transmission is slipping... perhaps a certified GM Garage if those exist

sounds like you got a crap rear end man, if it shifts good than it cant be the trans. i have a 94 and it has 1st gear with auto, although i have a valve job and shiftkit, with a trigger shift system, your trans should have it too.

I build these trans I am sure you have a really loose convertor. Try taking off in Drive It could be a sprag in your input housing. I will be glad to help with your diagnois. I am a wholesale dist for PTC, here in Alabama.

Sounds like u guys got this covered. My trans did this too. If u drove it normal it was fine. Shifted hard due to the shift kit but it was fine. But when u stood on it from a stop it would turn the wheels until u hit about 3K rpm and then it would slip but it did this in every gear. I went for a new trans but havent got it in yet. But i would listen to the specialists.

Do you mean that the converter is loose from the flywheel? Its almost like starting out in 2nd. I still want to know if you can manually shift the car into 2nd?? Because my shifter thing only says 2nd Drive and o-drive.

Well I guess the problem is solved, pulled the shifter all the back and hit the gas, it made some lovley sounds and then no more gear, Except Reverse so I drove 2miles in reverse back home. So I need a trans ayone have one close to VA

I thought the sprag might be slipping. Now we know. Be careful on a trans you will get robbed. I build them for $800 with a vette servo and kevlar band, borgwarner clutchs and a shift kit. That price is in the car also.
