How screwed am i?

Default How screwed am i?

Long story short, the iron piece that the oil pressure sensor screws into is cracked, thus making me leak oil everywhere. How badly ****ed am i?

how badly is it cracked ? you could use some jb weld if it isnt too bad, or go to a shop and have them weld it so it holds

crack is on the left side. I looked at a parts manual, thats actually a seperate pice from the block (thank god) however, i'm having trouble finding it on rockauto and gmpartsdirect. the part number is 24508439 and its listed on page 41-42 of the "93-02 camaro parts manual.pdf " called "adapter,oil fltr (w/bypass vlv) "

I haven't messed with one on this model yet, but most, if not all of the fittings on the engine (sensors, screw in plugs, etc.), are NPT (national pipe threads). You just may get lucky and find a fitting/adapter that will work at your local hardware store.

Thats what I was thinking as well.Keep in mind, pipe threads are tapered. You dont have to put a ton of torque to them to get them to seal. Good luck
