Secret is to NEVER use cruise control, NEVER use the brakes unless you have too, try not to accelerate up hills, rather gather speed going down them instead, check your tyre pressure religiously; and keep the revs below 2000.

I know that all seems counter-intuative when driving a hulking slab of american muscle... but at £62 for a full tank in the UK i'd rather save the money and spend it on futher improvements to the car!!!

I'm assuming your high numbers also reflect Imperial Gallons at 4.5 L.
US Gallons are smaller at 3.8 L so a little math would be required to equalize the equation.

You might think that Y2K... but I guessed most users of this forum as US, so I worked my numbers out in US (liquid) gallons.. In UK numbers i get around 25mpg town and 39ish highway.

Of course around once a month i get fed-up with cocksure Audi and BMW drivers 'giving it large' so decide to put my foot down and leave them standing at a set of traffic lights ;-) ... then i get around 14mpg us... but worth it i think...

Winter driving I get about 10mpg in the city. and summer about 16 mpg in the city. LT1 is not the car for people who are concerned about the environment, or tight about gas money.
