Gas milage ?
I am planning on replacing a tired 305 with a fresh 350 around march of next year. My question is what would be easier an gas. Keeping it a 2bl or putting a small 4bl on it. If it is the 4bl which one/size.
The engine is going to be stock. Or maybe just a small cam for torque. It will be going in a 78 Caprice. The car already has true duals with flowmasters and I am planning on getting headers and a dress up kit when I do the swap. The tranny is a th350 and I am not sure of the gearing but that is stock also.

If you can use a 4 barrel with small primaries and large secondaries, like a quadrajet, you will get the best of both worlds. Good economy and response while running on the primaries, and good power when you floor it and force the secondaries to open. Just don't force the secondaries to open unless you really need the extra power.
mattvogt, i cant agree any more. America is supposed to be about musclecars and beer. people should be aware of horrible gas mileage before they get into muscle cars, or they should look into not owning one.
