got 28 from my first stock 93 z28. getting 22 from the 93 i have now. had it up to 25 for a week and havent figured out why it went up or down. i think its brake drag (sticky calapers) but could be my trany, something in it is goin but dont know if it is effecting the mpg.

I have a late 97 z28 with about 39,000 miles on the clock and I manage around 20 to 22 mpg round town.

Last summer on a trip to Scotland i managed 35mpg (had just had a full service, new alloys & tyres, new pads and disks, new sparks, oil & pump change, air filter, etc etc etc)

Secret is to NEVER use cruise control, NEVER use the brakes unless you have too, try not to accelerate up hills, rather gather speed going down them instead, check your tyre pressure religiously; and keep the revs below 2000.

I know that all seems counter-intuative when driving a hulking slab of american muscle... but at £62 for a full tank in the UK i'd rather save the money and spend it on futher improvements to the car!!!

94 Z28 LT1 fresh rebuid to stock, 4L60 auto tranny, 3.23 rear, no addons yet, all stock except Magnaflow, no EGR or Airpump, and a tune to remove them ... 20 mpg in town 23 hwy.
