Default Basic Engine Mods for a '95 Z28...Recommendations

Hi, I was wondering what basic engine mods you guys would recommend? I don't want to run the strip but I would enjoy messing around on the street every now and then! Basically I'd like to be able to hold my own and not spend a fortune in the process. The car is a '95 Z28-6speed.

thanks

Well I would have to answer your question with another question.

How much money are you working with?

Look i dont mean to sound rude but u could always do a search for and read a little bit. But you could get a Cold Air Intake, catback system, headers, and i dont remember what more, but thats at top of my head, search a little bit man.shop at summitracing for cold air intake, its about 20-30 cheaper dan K&N website.

I don't mind searching around. Thanks for reminding me. However, this is a forum where people are to discuss topics. This site would serve no purpose ifeveryone just read up without posting any new information. I don't mean to sound rude but it just seems that sometimes guys are on here bustin' ***** just ifsomeone asksaquestion. I do appreciate your recommendations though. Sounds like a good placefor me to start.

www.jegs.com is another place, request a free catalog from both jeggs and summit, find some parts you think you like then we can all go from there.

Not at all Sellc! I appreciate your feedback bro. I don't have a ton of cash for mods right now. Probably around $1500. Thanks

Well $1500 if you plan to do the work yourself should cover a nice Nitrous kit and an a fair exhaust. Good for a total of about 420 horsepower and also give you that nice sound.

Plan on double that if someone has to install it all for you.

Deal with the rest later, but win the race now.

I wouldnt recommend nitrious, just because it costs alot to maintain, and I think its better tohave that power all the time, all motor. Unless your really into going really fast, and already have all the base mods, and have alot of money to spend. I would get:
1. Cold Air Intake 200+
2. Hypertech Tuner or Racing chip 350$
3. Cat Back Exhaust System 300-500$
4. Headers 255-600+
5. If you dont drive in the winter alot some Street Drag Radials to get all that power to the ground would be a good idea. 600$ (set of 4)

Total 1100-2200$.

There are more mods obviously to do, but I think these are pretty good ones to start with.
