Default vette brakes

I need to replace my front rotors and brake pads bad! They make a terrible grinding noise and i kringe everytime i i hear it lol. Anyways, i was thinking about getting C5 or C6 corvette rotors and brake padsstrait from GM. I'm just wondering if the rotors and pads will fit my Z. And also if they do fit, is it worth it to get a vette braking system or should i just go aftermarket like something from summitracing.com?

No sir,

I have worked with many corvette and many F-body and I have not seen any of them look even close to being intechangable. I think you can buy improved crossed drilled rotors and pretty calipers but I am almost positive Corvette brakes are totally diffrent than what you will find on your camaro. But I could be wrong as I have never tried to order brakes for a Corvette and then put them on a Camaro.

i did see corvette rotors, caps. and pads on a 2000 ss. I just thought i would do it on my Z since i've heard the vettes braking system is pretty nice.

Thats interesting on the SS. I am sure it can be done, I just dont think I have ever seen it done. Calipers that say Corvette on an SS is not something the factory would do. They do sell the dress up kits for the calipers that are basicly a sicker that goes on the caliper and a set of cross drilled rotors. Other than that I have never seen a set of six piston calipers on a Camaro/Firebird from the factory as of yet.

It can be done, but it is not a straight bolt on job, lots of clearance problems.
