i'm doing hooker or pacesetter long tube headers, with an off road y-pipe and a complete magnaflow 3 in. exhaust system. I have a friend who did a simlar set up just with jet hot headers, y-pipe and flowmaster set up and got about 30+ rwhp. He was very pleased, he owns a 1999 z28.

hey Z28ster i have that exact setup, with the flowtech longtubes, same exact headers as the hookers but cheaper, the ORY pipe and magnaflow cat back. I have an 02 so it will sound a little different but it will still sound good

Shorty Headers on the stock Y pipe and cat setup won't get you much, if anything, as already stated. But if you go for a good Mandrel bent Y pipe and some good cats, I'm agreeing with JD1969, probably about 15 or more RWHP.

So the MAC headers with an ORY and Borla catback should be a good setup?
