Default Shorty Headers

Anybody out there have any experience or comments on shorty headers?

I'm considering a set of JBA Silver Ceramic Coated Cat4ward Headers
for my 01 SS since New Jersey inspection has a problem with Long Tubes.

Please comeback.

Tks

The exhaust manifolds that come with the car are a pretty good design, I doubt that the shorties are going to give you much.

01 and 02s have really well designed manifolds, shorties won't give you anything, i just did a good bit of research about it cuz i ordered my headers a few days ago

All they do is look good and add unwanted heat to the engine compartment.

I dissagree, MAC mid length headers are what many people run (usually along with a set Random Technology cats) to be emissions legal. MAC's can add a decent amount of power, maybe up to 15 rwhp when done with a decent y pipe and cat back.

Couldn't he get 15 hp from a good cat back alone? without the cost of the shorties.

Not really, the mids are about the same length as the stock manifolds.

I checked out the mac mid's,and those would be an improvement over the stock manifold, but shorties would be a waste, so go with mid ar long tube or just stay stock.
