Default FULL EXHAUST QUESTION

I have a 94' 3.4. I have a few goodies and looking for better sounds and performance. I got a flowmaster cat-back allready. Would pace setter headers, y-pipe, and a high flow cat be worth the $500. How much power/torque would i be looking at? Thanks guyzzz!!

I dont know if they make headers for the 3.4 or not. I know pace setter makes them for the 3.8 and they may fit the 3.4 too, but you probably know if they do or not. Anyway the headers should run around $234, cat around 75-100 (for magnaflow, i believe flowmaster is a little less), and im not sure about a y pipe. anyway i would say with those mods, maybe around 25-35 hp, but thats more of a guess..

Pacesetter does make headers for the 3.4, but they're the only company. But thanks for the guesstimate, that's about what i was figuring too.

Pacesetter makes 3.4 headers, 234 shipped on www.texas-speed.com

I have a Magnaflow Carsound cat, bought it off a ebay Vendor for $50 shipped new

You will also need a S-pipe, or custome make one, this is what connects the cat to the cat-back...like 30 bucks for a U pipe to make a custom one, or around 75 new

Pacesetter is the only manufacturer for them so you don't have any options but they sound really ricey and you might not like that.

also it is nice to upgrade your exhaust to help your car breath better but you need to be careful. your car doesn't make to much power with the 3.4 and the torque is very low also. that engine really needs some good backpressure to help it keep it's power. since you already have the catback (which I will guess gave you much more noise than performance), I would work on getting the engine to put out more power before you worry about trying to get it out of the engine

there isn't really much you can do for that engine. it wasn't a good base engine for performance mods so the aftermarket never really took to it.

the best one stop shopping for you would be to go to www.slponline.comand look at their matched kits (if they still have them).

yea... i'm not looking for a racer by any means. I'm building a small block to put in an older vette. I just want something that looks good, sounds good, and it's so damn slow. I got this car for way cheap so it's what ihave to work with. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
