Default Wipers Park in Up position -- 2000SS M6

My wife drove my 2000 SS for the first time in months and now the wipers park in the upright position. I know its not actually her fault. Is the parking position determined by the motor and do you actually need a special tool to change the motor?

Mine did the same thing. They wouldn't "park" all the way down in the cowl like they should've. Check to see if the "gear," or whatever makes them "park" is stripped. I was going to check mine, and then all of a sudden they started "parking" correctly again. Every now and again this happens to me. It's an intermittent problem, though.

Mine only do it every now and then. I was going to suggest that if this problem happens continuously with your wipers, it may be a "stripped gear," or something.
