good engine temp?

i have a 350 in my 81 camaro. whats the hottest that the engine should be running at that you would be comfortable with?

I have a 180 thermostat and on the open road it is at 180 deg. Driving in stop and go trafic and with the A/C around 180/220 degs. But it will vary and NOTHING hotter then 220.

Depends! If you have used a HPP3 or had the computer re-mapped, then you wouldn't want it to run over 160*, but for a stock pcm, 160- 195* thermostat is accepable. i agree on the 220 max.!
