Default 1969 RS engine temp wiring

My engine(350) has the temp sensor with the threaded end and two nuts. There are two wires with protectived looms nearby. The one currently connected has the connector with the hole. The warning light is not working. The other wire with the loom has what appears to be a connector to go over a "pin" end. Assuming the wire currently connected is correct, where does the other connect to. When I connect the wire currently not used, the warning light does come on. Which wire is supposed to be connected and where does the other go.

Thanks

After further looking....the second, larger gage, loomed wire was added sometime by a previous owner and doesn't belong. I removed it, attached the correct, 20 DG wire to the temp sensor and the warning light appears to be working.

What color are the two wires? The one for the temperature switch is dark green.

Thanks for the reply.....believe the problem is solved.... removed the incorrect, additional loomed wire(black) someone previously installed and attached the correct DG 20 wire to the sender and it appears to be working. I thought it was strange to have two of them.

Good deal. That one wire you were describing wasn't sounding like a factory original.
