Exclamation Engine Temp!!! HeLp

Okay guys so just recently I have been driving my camaro easy* and it over heats like crazy and usually all at once. Sometimes I will be driving only 10-15 miles or so before it will climb over 260 degrees. I do have painted not ceramic headers and I also have a sound system that takes a fair amount of power to run but is not on too loud all that often. Is my problem in those two areas, or do you think it is a thermostat problem? Any ideas???? This is not a small problem as you could guess haha btw 99'' v6 3800II y87 84kmiles

electrical load wont have anything to do with over heating.ceramic coated headers will increase engine bay temp but not engine temp.

when was the last time coolant was changed ?
is the thermostat operating correctly ?
any leaks in the cooling system ?
are the fans coming on ?
when was the oil last changed ?

Coolant was changed about 25 miles ago with the oil, no leaks what so ever fans are working all the time haha how would I know if the thermostat is working properly? I think that may be the problem...

Do you have a lip under the front bumper to direct the air to the engine?

Good because mine fell off and the temp was going up real fast and got very hot and then I realized I didn't have it (actually, I bought the car like that and didn't know why it did that).

the air dam or spoiler under neath the front bumper help direct air to the radiator. Was there any thing like paper or something on the radiator blocking air ? Thermostats are cheap around 10 bucks, if you want just go down to the auto store, put it in and see if anything changes

Yes the aid dam is still there and functional. On the thermostat.. do I need a specific one? Also I have never installed one.. is it difficult?

you should just be able to pull the top of the water pump off and you will see the thermostat right there.should only take 15 min for a beginner
