Default 1987 camaro help

Hey guys, i currently own a 94 camaro but looking to buy a new daily driver so i can get more serious about my build. I have driven by a blue 1987 z28 several times and decided to stop and takes a looksy today. I called him up and this is what i have so far. 1987 307 TPI automatic. New valves and new tires only a few thousand miles on them. Wife's car and they have 4 cars for two ppl. Not driven very often. No rust. He also has a stock car in his garage so he's not a complete retard that knows nothing about cars. It's clean but not perfect clean. I'd say better then average. He's asking 4k. I think that's to much. I was wondering if there are any certain things that are associated with this car before i go drive it tomorrow night. He sais it gets mid 20's on the highway and at 70 runs 1500 rpms. Any input would be great, im going to go read up on the tpi right now. Thanks guys!

87 Z28 did not have the 305 TPI only IROC-Z28 had thar option. Sounds like he replaced the valve seals. Also with those numbers it is a 2:73 rear.
Again $4k is a little high, I would get a little more info and check the RPOs (located under the console lid) for the list of options on the car. Remember, it is 20+ year old car and everything is not going to be perfect. But it is your decision.

TPI engine will look like this:

why not keep it if you can get it for 1500 ? and a 350 isnt going to be much better than a 305, and t-tops isnt going to make that much of a difference either, but whatever you feel
