Well, I break axles almost every time I go. That's no fun. But other than that, I ruin other people's days. Sucks to be in a modded V8 muscle car and get spanked by a gay little neon.
Hahaha, that would be the only reason I'd ever own a modded sub-compact. Just to ruin peoples days.

A modded Z28 gets beat by an S/C Cobra, not that big of a deal, S/C Cobras are supposed to be fast cars. A modded Z28 gets beat by a 2.0L Neon, WTF?

for a car in street trim, the track is no harder than the street on drivetrain components. like I said earlier, its only when you can really hook does the track start to beat on things more

This is true. As I saidbefore as long as your car is in good shape you should be fine. I can say my TA has right at 100K on the stock rear and A4. The car has over 50 track passes with 275s and a few runs with a 90 shot and I have never had any thing break on the car from the track to date. Fbodys are strong vehicles GM made them able to take a good beating as far as performance drivinggoes. As stated above the problem starts when you increase power and then traction to the point that the drive line is taking the punishment vs. your rubber and as a result parts can ware and break. Howevereven a boltedLS1 or LT1 should be well in its limits and even with better rubber the car shouldn’t have any issues. The only things you need to look out for are if it’s a M6 car keep a good mind on your clutch. Track use can ware your clutch quicker then normal driving and ware could increase if you have DR's or MT's (the power has to go some where). Also make sure you keep up with your fluids and keep them clean. This will not only help your car run better but help her run stronger for longer by reducing ware.

You are also running over 4 seconds faster in the 1/4 thenthe car was everment to go.I could be mistaken but I don’t think neon’s where made to take out corvettes.
This is true... And the fact that I blew the motor on Thursdayfurther substantiatesit. No biggie though. Got a forged one to throw in, and all I need to do to make another 150hp or so is push some buttons on a boost controller. Now I'll be chasing the 10s, ruining the days of modded V8s on spray... And breaking twice as many axles...

Well the awesome torque of my V6 broke my tranny when accelerating off the red light... But then again, I blame it on the previous owner.

Yeah, the brute force of the 190hp 4.3L V6 in my old Blazer fragged the gears in my rear end and bent an axle at about 136k miles when I turned left from a stop sign
