GM factory hydraulic cam, part # 3863151. 221/221 duration@.050, .447/.447 lift, 114 LSA.
These specs are very close to your Comp Cams cam.
The above GM cam was used in the 1965-68 327 L79 350 h.p. engine. It did have 11.0:1 c.r. though. So, you think you can get somewhat close to that with a 350? I do.

Ok im starting to feel better about my purchase again. but since you mentioned the 11.0:1 c.r. I should start asking about the c.r. for the motor im building.

I have been told to try to keep my c.r. to no more then 10.5:1 but i would like to keep it at about 10:1 so would you know what kind of dished piston i should look for.

My block has not been machined yet so i dont know any extra numbers like the deck height or a gasket thickness. Also i will either go honed out with the bore or i want to go .020 over if needed.

thanks for all of the help.

the 268 h is a mild cam ... just over stock
good for gas milage , torque , smooth idle ... etc .

i put a 280 h high energy , that will bring you to your goal in hp ,
but you need a 2500 stall , headers etc ...

a extreme 274h kit has a bit more torque , and can get away with less converter.

don;t put more than 10.1 - 1 ratio
or you will need to go to an airport for gas!

you;ll just have to de-tune your motor if you put too much compression for the cheap gas they sell us on the road!

im using a 5speed tranny in my car. the cam sheet on comp cams web site says it is a choppy idle. i also have a set up hooker headers on my 305 that i will possibly transfer over to this 350.

i am listening to every thing you all are saying and again i thank you all.

also i like torque most of my racing is 0 - 60
