Question Cant start without starter fluid

Hi so I recently bought a 1992 camaro with a build 350, th350 trans, b+m fully manual shifter, mg ignition, holley 4150 carb. I cant start the car without starter fluid. I rebuilt the carb and still have no luck. Any ideas? Help would be greatly appreciated Thanks

Fuel supply problem. Your car originally had an electric in-tank fuel pump. What does it have now?

its has an external aftermarket fuel pump. Fuel is being delivered just not firing when cold. Start fine when engine is warm-hot.

whens the last time that you drove the car? maybe fuel is to old or when cold if freezes somewhat, i would try fresh fuel, or drive it around for a bit to operating temp when you do start it

Well it sat for 2 years before i bought it. I have put in new 93 octane gas as well as octane booster still no luck even after running 1-2 hrs worth of new gas through the car.

Is your choke mechanism working properly? Does it do this on a hot restart too, or only with a cold engine?

only cold. I believe it is the choke mechanism. I manually operated the choke today and it started up right away. I will have to fix the electric choke. Recommend any sites that teach you the correct way to install the electric choke?

Connect the electric choke to a keyed power source, and it's hooked up.
But you also need to make sure the choke is adjusted correctly, that could be your main problem now.
The Holley website, of all places, is a good place to start: http://www.holley.com/data/Products/.../199R10500.pdf
