i have a 91 camaro with the fuel pump in the gas tank. when did they start doing that. i need a gas tank without the pump. ty mike

 

Since day one with 3rd gen cars....

 

three options.
1. drop the tank, pull the pump out and install an inline or mechanical pump
2. get a custom built fuel tank
3. dissconnect the supply fuel line (by the fuel filter is the easiest), blow compressed air back towards the tank until you hear it gurgling, have a pan ready and let off the air. what that does is blow out a seal inside the pump that only allows fuel to be pushed through it. with that seal destroyed, fuel can be pulled through the pump as if it was not there
