Default speaker distortion

ever since i bought new speakers for the front doors the speakers have been having distortion in them
i sent them back and got a new pair and still have the problem
i thought it was the headunit so thats being repaired i put the stock stereo back in today and noticed the speakers are still doing it
its mostly the right side speakers
but if i turn the balance to the the left the left side does it too[/align]

did you wire the speakers yourself? Are they aftermarket or stock?

more than likely the speakers arent getting enough power, but they still shouldnt distort anymore than stock ones. do you have them wired right?

mine never did that in either car i've owned. and any vehicle i'ce installed them in.. if anything, you're head unit is underpowering them(which it is) which would not cause distortion, unless the treble bass, etc is cranked to the max.
but a amp will make them sound 100x better.
