as far as I know you have to take the entire door panel off to do speaker-work on the front speakers.

The front ones i could never get off either, and i figured instead of braking them its probably easier to just pop the panel off.

Theres another topic somewhere around here talking about replacing the windows. If you find that topic it has the directions on how to take off the door panel included in it. Its not complicated at all.

I just replaced the speakers in my doors a month or so ago. It really is pretty easy taking the door pannels off. Remove the screws that you see in the door panel. There are 3 (I think) in the arm rest, 1 in the plastic piece that surrounds the lock slide. ANd one more in the plastic triangle piece that would be the cover for the side mirror mounting bolts. Once the screws are removed then with a little effort, gently lift straight up on the door panel, you should feel it give. The way the door panel is designed, is that it has several clips along the bottom that set down inside the door sheet metal. So if you use an up and out motion, it should be fairly simple.

SHOULD be fairly simple. I removed all the screws and pulled on the door, but I didn't put too much effort because the LAST thing I need is to break my damn door, I'll go try again though ! wish me luck!
