Ok so I have a 95 3.4 v6 runs fine as of now but the service engine soon light randomly turns on. I had this at Monroe's today to get it checked, the guy said nothing would read it's electrical somewhere causing the system to turn on the light something along the lines of that. Shortly after my right turn signal now stays lit green on the dash, it doesn't blink. The rear bulb went out but front just stays on it doesn't blink. When I use Hazards they work fine any help would be greatly appreciated. Also I realize these might be different issues but I thought maybe they would be related so that is why I combined them into one thread.


P.S. Also looking for a dash pad if anyone knows where to get one cheaper then Ebay. No local junkyards have any that aren't cracked or they are gone already.

 

You have to use a special OBD1 scantool to read the codes on a 94/95. Most will not work for those cars. If your pc can be placed close to the car, you can buy an OBD1 cable for about $55 and use some free software with it to read the codes and more. TunerproRT (using a V6 file), and Scan9495-V6 are all free and will work. I wrote Scan9495 and Scan9495-V6, so naturally I think mine is the best ;-)

Usually when the turn indicator lamp in the instrument cluster stays on, it is because there is a missing ground connection at one of the turn signal bulbs. Probably a bad socket. Look for bulbs that are unusually dimly lit.

No it's not about it being a 95. The Monroe's I take it to is capable of scanning it with the right stuff, they have done it before and It was an EGR code. I replaced that over the winter. He said he just was unable to get an actual code for the car. The light comes on but it isn't running a code. And for the turn signal I am going to go looking later today. What about a turn signal relay switch I think it's called under the dash?

 

The problem with the 3.4L is that the codes can clear very fast so you have to have a scantool on it all the time to see any intermittent codes.

The flasher module wouldn't cause your problem with just one side. It is used for both sides.

 

if you have a burnt out bulb it won't flash on that side.
