'69 Turn signal problem
My left turn signal only works with the light switch off. The moment I turn the lights on it stops working. Any ideas on what might be causing this? I did notice a blue wire coming off the left side harness at the center of the inner fender well and I can't figure out what it ever lead to.
There might be a loose wire in the turn signal lamp housing. I would start there, if not in the housing it is somewhere else. No doubt an electrical issue, more specific it is grounding where it shouldnt be.
It's working again now for some reason! It works again with the lights on but the left signal is still very slow to blink. The wire on the left side that's cut off comes off the harness by the center of the inner fender well and it looks to be a dark blue color.

these cars have been so Mickey Moused over the years, it's sometimes hard to follow the wiring. perfect example is from yesterday. I was helping a friend with his 69, he has a draw in his system somewhere. as I am looking for that, I am at his fuse panel and see a black with going into a switched 12V so I follow it out to the electric choke, and this was done locally and recently by a supposed top quality classic car mechanic
1969SS, I know what you mean. I have a 69 that is in the process...... I already know that I will end up redoing the entire wiring harness before I pull my hair out. Who knows how many PO's this car has had.
"Nice ride. How is the rust in the vinyl top areas? I understand they are notorious for it."
I had the vinyl top replaced 24 years ago and the only problem spot it has is on theside of the roof pillar where there is some rust that came back after it was repaired. I decided to keep the vinyl top because it came with it but I've seen where these tops can really cause problems with rust holes, especially around the part below the rear window where water collects. One advantage is you never have to wax the top.

I know what you mean. My car was only 13 years old when I bought it and it already was messed with quite a bit and smashed up quite a bit too.
I have a '67 Camaro that someone replaced the original steering column with a 70's Impala column and they even wired in one electric window on the passenger's side. [:@]
