Smile Thoughts and my $.02 on changing spark plugs and wires

While I was fixing a miss-fire issue this weekend, I took a second look at changing the plugs and wires on these cars. It is easy, so easy, in fact I'm a fool for paying to have it done a few years ago.

I was able to fit my hand all the way back towards the 5 and 6 cylinders, to remove the plugs and boots, as well as removing the wire boots from the 1 and 4 cylinder ignition coil nipples.

I don't see the need to remove heat shields, or even get at the car from below.

I've posted a YouTube video with some how-to tips and thoughts. If anyone needs help or has questions, I'd be glad to give some feedback. Bottom line, it looks and seems like it could be a nightmare of a job, but in fact it's super easy.

if you had the old style manifolds, you would think differently. the tubs are just like having headers which make it easy job.

The 2001+ 3.8L engines had really nice manifolds that made changing the plugs easy. The book time is actually alot less for labor in changing the plugs than it is for the 95-2000.

Also I love the minifig avatar! I collect Lego and still have all my Legos from when I was a kid!
