Default Replacing ' Heater hose bypass fittings" on 98 Camaro v6

Two times today, the Heater hose bypass fitting, that is positioned between belt tensioner and intake manifold, on my 98 Camaro, tried to be replaced. The first one was put in to far, by mistake. That one came back out in pieces. The second one, ( with lubricant this time), just broke. Can someone please explain to me what the correct way of replacing that part is. Thank you. Ana A.

I will be doing mine next week when my parts come in. Had to scrape all the old debris prerry good.

I plan to use a little RTV sealant around the tube ends to help hold it in place. If all works well I will post again.

I would not use rtv, it might seal something you don't want it to... You have to clean the bore out very very very good! That's the secret.

grease or rvt, both have been recomended on here to help seal the elbow.

I have a non hardening RTV sealant that should work, I hope to never have to change it again. The throttle body side is hard to see if it is all cleaned out though. New water pump arrived today plan to put it in and hope it all seals.

Grease, or oil is fine, but make sure their is nothing in the bore. Finger it!

Default Heater Hose bypass fitting for my 98 Camaro v6

Thanks to all that left comments for me. I will pass them on to my son, next week, when he has a day off to work on my car. Thanks again to all. Ana A.
