bro i replaced mine recently. it is the the ect(engine coolant temp sensor)i believe i used a 3/4 wrench.. the trick is to remove the whole entire air filter to the throttle body. then the 2small water inlets to the throttle body. then play with the wrench and take it out little by little(keep fliping the wrench so it can work better) once removed. get the new one.put teflon on the new threads.then apply the new sensor with your hand first! then tighten the sensor with the wrench again in the same position u took it out in............see if that works...and the air temp sensor is in the air cleaner assembly.and the oil pressure sensor is by the oil filter..

also the other temp sensor behind the ignition coils is the engine coolant temp GAUGE sensor. the ect sensor(what RACER is talking about)is the sensor the pcm uses to activate the fans and for engine performance issues.

u should really check your ignition and fuel delivery...and does it have the service engine soon on? if so check for codes. i believe your 95 camaro was like mine and have the OBD 1.5 not a lot shops have the a compatable scanner..so might have to go to a chevy shop/dealer........but to me sounds like a bad fuel pump.......

Yea Tha service engine light does come come.Kinda frustrating do to all the parts I changed.I was hoping it wasn't the fuel pump. That seems to be a difficult job.Heard there is a way by cutting thru trunk floor board.I'll rent a fuel pressure Gage at autozone 1st tho.95 camaro 3.4 117,000 mile engine still sounds strong.

Placement of the sensor depends on the engine in your car.
1998 and up 5.7L is located on the Drivers side head behind the Power Steering Fluid container.

For the 1993-96 5.7L engine, the ECT sensor is located in the water pump

Location of the ECT sensor-3.4L engine is located under the air intake, on the lower intake plenum, next to the water intake jacket.

Removal & Installation
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Properly drain the engine coolant into a suitable container.
  3. Disconnect the sender electrical lead and unscrew it. The sender can be found on the engine block or threaded into the thermostat housing/water outlet.
To install:
  1. Install the sensor and tighten until snug.
  2. Connect the sensor electrical lead.
  3. Connect the battery cable and fill the engine with the proper type and amount of coolant.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. If necessary, raise and safely support the vehicle, then drain the cooling system into a suitable container, to a level below the ECT sensor.
  3. If raised, lower the vehicle.
  4. For the 3.8L engine, remove the rear air intake duct.
  5. For the 1993-96 5.7L engine, remove the air intake duct.

On the 1993-96 5.7L engine, remove the air intake duct(s) as necessary
  1. Detach the electrical connector from the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor.
  2. For the 1998 5.7L engine, remove the no. 1 spark plug wire from the spark plug.
  3. Carefully back out the ECT sensor. For the 3.8L engine, you must use a 19mm deep well socket and 6-inch extension to remove the sensor.

The ECT sensor is threaded into the left side of the engine, below the alternator on the 1998 5.7L engine
To install:
  1. Coat the threads of the sensor with a suitable sealer.
  2. Install the coolant temperature sensor and tighten as follows:
    1. 3.4L engine: 10 ft. lbs. (13 Nm)
    2. 3.8L engine: 22 ft. lbs. (30 Nm)
    3. 5.7L engine: 17 ft. lbs. (23 Nm).
  3. For the 1998 5.7L engine, attach the no. 1 wire to the spark plug.
  4. Attach the electrical connector.
  5. For the 3.8L engine, install the rear air intake duct.
  6. Fill the cooling system as required.
  7. Connect the negative battery cable.
  8. Start the engine and check for leaks.
