Default extremely high idle

i just finished replacing the upper intake manifold gasket and go to start my car and it has a high idle. it starts at about 3000rpm and goes up from there. i wont leave the vehicle running long enough to see what it could be but i was wondering if i could have possibly forgotten a vacuum line or switched one up on accident. the vehicle is a 1997 chevy camaro with a 3.8 manual. any suggestions? anyone have a picture of the vacuum diagram they can post? thanks.

It takes a pretty big vacum leak to run a engine up to 3000 RPM. First try pinching off vacuum hose with needle nose pliers. Then you want to get some carb cleaner and spray it around. The engine idle changes then you in hte right area.

Another thing to check it the throttle and cruise cable. I would try disconnecting them first and make sure everything is working free and that the butterfly valve is closing all the way.

Pinch them all off one at a time. If you hit one causing and issue the motor should slow down. Once you figure out it is one of the Vacuum hose and which one it is then figuring out why will be easy.

i see. the part that worries me is this engine doesn't even have 20 miles on it since its been rebuilt. im worried that if i let the engine idle at 3k i would spin a bearing.
