extremely high idle

Default extremely high idle

hey guys looking fosoe help with my 97 camao rs just did a swap with a 99 motor still v6 changed verythig just got it running today with the help of a few guys on here so hoping i can get a lil more help.


i made sure all the sensors are conected im not getting any codes but when it starts it idles at 3500 rpms i check the throttle to make sure the cable was not pulling it back and i unpluged the m.a.f sensor it idled lower but started to surge any ideas would be helpfull

no vac leak sprayed around motor and no change idk

thats what would cause a 3500 rpm idle in the other thread i asked you what you meant by you broke the booster line i dont remember an answer

Your motor is getting air from someplace. The fuel injection system can only add air thru the IAC motor but with that maxed out your going to be 1500 maybe 1800 RPMs max. So to run higher RPMs the motor needs more air. You could take a pc of sheet metal and close the front intake (throttle body) if the motor stalls there is something wrong with your throttle body if it keeps running at all its getting air some place else.

Warning!! DO NOT try to plug the thottle body with anything that could be sucked into the motor.

like your hand theres a lot of vacuum there... ask me how i know

Ouch 20 inch of vacuum almost instantly, that will give a nice big hicky.
