Default Engine stuttering

I have a 99 camaro with the 3.8l v6. my car seems to stutter when i hit the gas only when its warm. Its not misfiring, it just stutters and shakes, and its only at low rpms. does anybody have any thoughts on the issue? I dont think its spark plugs, or wires i just changed them, any help would be appreciated. thanks

have it scanned for trouble codes. could be a coil pack goin south or maybe just need fresh 02 sensors or the maf cleaned. check the fuel pressure. did it start right after the plugs and wires were changed?

A while back mine was doing to the same thing, however after a day or so it got much worse. Turned out to be a bad coil pack. Is it giving you any error codes you could get checked?

When I first brought my car home it had not run in 9 months. My car studdered a little but it was not the engine it was the tranny. I had a trans shop tell me to put some posi additive in the trans and see if that cleared it up. I did... about 2 days later the studdering went away. Posi additive is a friction modifier and it helps to keep the friction material in the trans supple and useful.

Oh and when I discribed the problem to the tech the first thing he asked me is if the car sat for a long period of time without being started or driven.

P.S. if you have a manual trans then forget what I posted... That fix is for automatics.

That transmission "expert" who told you to do that should be clubbed over the head. The posi additive lowers the coefficient of friction of the fluid allowing more slip (less slip is when the clutch packs in the rearend stick and bind which is why the posi additive helps there). More slip is the last thing you want the clutches in the trans to do, but that does explain why your shudder went away. Just because the posi additive helps the clutches in a rearend does not mean it's good for the trans. That trick you used is a band-aid for transmissions that may have torque converter shudder. "supple and useful" means more ability to slip. Trans clutches don't want to be supple.
Oh, did I happen to mention, NEVER put differential posi additive in an automatic transmission!

^ I asked him the same thing about the slipage deal. He told me that the auto tranny fluid would not allow the slipage and the additive would help condition my friction material. It worked for me, my trans does not chatter any more and I have no slipage issues. When I serviced my trans a few weeks ago I didnt have any excess material in the pan or anything out of the ordinary, just the normal grey residue. The stuff was in the trans for about 3 months and I ran maybe 2500 miles with it in there.

Hey, So I've checked the engine codes several times now, at first it said it was the 6th cylinder misfiring and now it won't even register as a code but it still misfires, I switched the coil in question with one of my other coils and tried to see if it would register as a cylinder 4 misfire but no codes yet, I also just talked to an autozone guy that told me i might want to check spark plug wire resistance to see if its off, does that have any merit? and by any chance does anyone know a good site to find spark plug gaps?
