Default Car stuttering

I have a 96 camaro 3.8L and when I give it gas it starts to stutter around 3000 rpm and it's off and on all the way up to 5400. It's only when there is a load on the engine. If the tires are slipping the engine is fine but as soon as there's
Traction it starts to stutter. At first I thought it was my clutch but it does it in any gear so that was ruled out. Any ideas? Would it be a clogged fuel filter or weak fuel pump? It does it whether it's cruising speed or heavy acceleration.
Thanks for all the help

You need to scan it for codes. There are several things that could cause stuttering such as bad coil pak, plugs, wires, fuel filter, bad fuel pressure, injector, bad sensor, etc. Does the SES light flash when this is happening? Is the SES light on continuously?

Most common issue would be something in the secondary ignition system breaking down. In your case coils, wires and plugs. Fuel pressure test will show most fuel problems.

i agree with the 2 above you need to get it scanned and most likely it needs a good tune up

The engine light just went on this morning. It's had a tune up recently but I never replaced the coil packs so I'm going to do that tonight hopefully.

I had the same issue it was the coils, it still shakes a bit, I'm going to replace the fuel filter as soon as possible.

If it just had a tune up, check the plug wires to make sure one of them has not been placed close enough to the manifold to melt and cause arching to ground. Also might want to check to make sure they are pushed down on the plugs good, if "tune up" included plugs being replaced.

I did the tune up so I'm positive it's not the wires. I try to keep everything protected and as far away from the engine block and exhaust manifold. Is there 3 individual coil packs or just one unit?
