i'm experiencing some engine hesitation every once in a while, when doing a rapid accelaration. Engine kind of acts like its being chocked for gas when trying to accelerate after the stop light turns green. I'm thinking it's probably the fuel filter. Anybody know anything else it could possibly be..?

 

plugged cat or fuel filter? air filter?

 

i replaced the cat about a year ago. Put in a magnaflow cat.... Don't think it would be clogged already. And i replaced the air filter a couple months ago. But i'll check it again. Going to replace fuel filter today. Hope fuel pump isn't trying to go out.

 

Fouled spark plugs?

 

had the same problem here what i ended up having to fix...

i had a bad maf sensor
bad coil pack
02 sensor
and an egr valve..


the first thing i changed was the egr valve and the hesitation went away. the others were just problems that followed that

 

well, replaced the fuel filter so far the engine hesitation has stopped when accelerating. But when i'm sitting at a light and the car has been drivin for a while, the RPM will dip every so often like its still loosing power. i just gave it a full tune up about 35,000 miles ago. Probably get the cat checked tomorrow to make sure it's not plugged.
