If you read his post he's NOT heavily modding his engine! If he were to do a true turbo build with 14 to 20lbs of bootst then that would be heavily modding the car!

Sorry to assume your 17yr old car might need some suspension work after adding a turbo of any kind to it!

Thanks guys for the positive feed back that is more of what I wanted to hear. Still is there anyone out there with their turbo build thread. And I understand that the 3.4 intake manifold amd heads are a bar bottle neck problem. Ive seen a thread on ftv6 I belive a guy took the 3100 series heads intake fuel rails and injectors and swap and made a few extra horses then he took a 3400 series heads intake manifold fuel rails and injectors, and wires from a 99 grand am and claimed they erred direct bolt on and he produced 184 hp, no tune just strait swap, I am still considering doing the 3500 series top swap. And to avoid detonation I most likely will run a water injection or water/meth injection. I qm still looking into tuning considering aem fuel and ignition controller, or possibly the megasquirt. Any suggestions for some easier tuning, I already have a walbro 255 pump and a moroso regulator.

Hptuners. You should need a tune if your boost is under 5Lbs.

well, the reaction around here to doing pretty much anything besides bolt-ons to a V6 is generally pretty negative. people on ftv6 would probably be more willing to help. that's more what I was trying to say.

best of luck with the build!

Have fun blowing up your car with a turbo. Even 1lb of boost will shred a 3.4

rear turbos blow.. (haha literally and figuratively)
why would u want the compressor 9 feet away from the engine??? that would make for super lag times... and it has potential to create a nightmare of boost leaks

There is nothing easy about mega squirt. If you know someone that can get you a close base line tune it would help a lot. If you are new to tuning you should skip the mega squirt for now and see if you can find a system a that you can get dyno tuned to start with then edit and refine that tune before trying to do a tune from scratch.

Sound like you should do a lot more research. What you are going to find no matter how you want to stack it is this. If you want to go fast, real fast, you need a different car. You can spend thousands of dollar and hundreads of hours of work and be out run by a stock 94 Z28 that you could buy for $1800.

Now IF you want to see how fast you can make a 3.4, now we are talking. Keep doing the research head swap is where to start. Remember turbo will only help getting Air in the cylinder they do not help it get out. About all the turbo will get you is a blow head gasket and barely show up on a dyno at all.
