does anyone have a 3.4 rear turbo thread
I have a 3.4 and I'm interested in putting a rear turbo in it. I basically want some ideas, I just want to see if anyone else has done this. Pics or video would be much appteciated. And no I don't want a v8 I'm fine with a turbo.

i wanted to...
no no one has a thread about it your car wont handle a turbo it may run for 10 seconds afterwords theres alot of things that need to be done
go to the search and type in "3.4 - 3.5 upper end swap" and read that thread its everything i found about getting your engine ready for forced induction

The stock heads and intake are so restrictive on the 3.4L that even putting a turbo on will not help much. This engine is not the best starting point for forced induction. DO what BC said above, that is your best chance for success

I've seen a video on you tube advertising forced fed fabrication turboing a 3.4 and I am only looking for a few pounds of boost and something that is DIFFERENT. When I say a few I mean like 3 pounds of boost. I am not interested in a supercharger or doing a v8 swap. And I don't want a front mount turbo I want a rear mounted turbo. I can do it all it ain't my first rodeo. I just wanted to see how many others have done this and gather some ideas from it.

You'll need one of these:

Then you'll need a bypass valve and an intercooler.
You'll need to rebuild the engine from the main bearing up! Camshaft, heads, rods, pistons. Might as well do the 3.5L engine swap. Don't forget to swap the rear-end for a posi otherwise you'll just spin the tires with no traction and make alot of noise. You'll need to strengthen your suspension too with better sway bars, sway bar links, bushings, springs and shocks.
$10,000.00 and a week's work and your V6 3.4L will be able to keep up with a N/A LT1.
