Well the info is kinda vague, but it sounds like a master cylinder problem. Check your fluid like musicman said, and if its black and/or has little black chunks in it, the master is toast, or atleast it will be soon. Im gonna replace my master cylinder tommorow actually, Ill let you know how it goes and maybe get pictures.
