Default Clutch noise, but no clutch problem...well not yet anyway

Hi, I'd like an opinion or two. I own a 98 Z28. Very recently, the clutch has started making significant whining noises when the clutch is depressed, there is also a bit of a grinding sound when sitting at a red light, you can actually feel it in the pedal. The clutch seems to be working fine, no upshift or downshift problem,,, just some ugly sounds when the pedal is pushed in.

The clutch on this car owes me nothing, I am approaching 290,000 kms on the original equipment, just wanting to know what it is I am hearing..

I expect I will be replacing the entire clutch, unless someone tells me something I should know.

Thanks.

Your throwout bearing is going bad.
