brakes question
Ok about a month and a half ago I had my brake pads replaced and they turned the rotors. I had to have the SAME thing done about a year ago ( I thought it was 6 months but whatver). Anyways my breaks squeal, i'm not talking little i'm talking SQUEAL and i park in a parking garage so it echo's, too. That's just great. I also noticed when going low speeds they emit a low pitch squeal...until i tap the breaks then it changed sounds. I took the car back to the mechanic but they said it was just dirt and sprayed them off which helped 0%.
Is this normal? I don't remember them doing this before. I drive about 1/10 of a mile to paved road, then 30 miles down a 2 lane road then about a 1 mile through the ghetto and downtown to the parking garage. I don't take it off roading, when I did regularly go down a mile long dirt road i didn't have this problem. She's a completely ragged out 94 v6 but my pride can't take this anymore.
Any help is greatly appreciated (even the stupid girl comments)

RE: brakes question
first thing first i like your quote. second if you press the brakes hard do they still make noises, did they put performance brake pads and is there a lot of brake dust on your rims. performance pads make that anoying squeal, if they did put performance pads on that could be your problem. i would have a less performance pads on that have low dust and noise control. hope this helps if not let us know.

RE: brakes question
an ample dose of anti squeal always goes on the pad backs before I install them. This prevents chatter while stopping. Chances are the mechanic didnt use any or just gave them a lite coat. Take it back ad tell him to apply the anti squeal to the pads.
