Get some Ceramic Pads and some Napa (not autozone) rotors...

Slotted Rotors are merely for appearance sake for almost all cases

 

So what... just goto Murray's (part of CSK) and get pads with lifetime warranty and many rotors have a long warranty -- like 3 yrs...

I would think slotted rotors would cool quicker to help prevent warping, although I have not yet owned a set.

Slotted rotors may not be the best choice for a daily driver that goes in snow, ice, sleet, salt, etc... It can get stuck in the slots...

 

IMO, murrays seems to carry better brands than Autozone, when it comes to general maintaince, I go with Napa or Carquest

Pads are more important than rotors

Just going from what I've heard, slotted rotors are more for show or hardcore enthusiasts

 

Drilled and slotted rotors, while they may look like wonderful, don't do much different for the stopping of a vehicle that is driven legally.

I'm not so much worried about them wearing, I will just replace them when they do... but more concerned about what I'm needing to buy (No, not $$$-BAER-$$$) whether it be ceramics or what? I was told certain pads require X-amount of heat before they fully work...?
